Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons molasses

Directions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef, onion, and bell pepper until the beef is browned and the vegetables are tender. Add the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  2. Add the cooked beef and vegetables to the slow cooker.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, oregano, black pepper, cumin, cayenne pepper, mustard, and ginger.
  4. Add the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, and molasses to the bowl and whisk until completely combined.
  5. Pour the mixture over the beef and vegetables in the slow cooker and stir to combine.
  6. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 5-6 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, or until the beef is cooked through and the sauce is thick and bubbly.
