6 cups thinly sliced apples (about 6 to 8 medium apples)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
2 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Unroll one of the refrigerated pie crusts and place it into a 9-inch pie plate. Trim the excess dough from the edges.
In a large bowl, mix together the sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice until the apples are well coated.
Pour the mixture into the pie plate and spread evenly.
Cut the butter into small pieces and sprinkle over the top of the mixture.
Unroll the second pie crust and place it over the top of the pie, trimming the excess dough from the edges. Crimp the edges together and cut several small slits in the top of the crust.
Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
Let cool before serving.
