Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat, stirring often to break it up.
  2. Once the beef is fully cooked, add in the onion and bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes, until the vegetables are softened.
  3. Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve with your favorite toppings, such as shredded cheese, sour cream, diced avocado, and/or diced jalapeños.
