Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken stock
- 1 head of broccoli, cut into florets
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Directions
- Melt butter in a large pot over medium-high heat.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the chicken stock and bring to a boil.
- Add the broccoli and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add the shredded cheese and stir until melted.
- Season with cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Serve hot.
