Ingredients

  • 6 cups boiling water
  • 2 (3-ounce) packages cherry flavored gelatin
  • 2 (3-ounce) packages blueberry flavored gelatin
  • 2 (14-ounce) cans sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • Red and blue food coloring

Directions

  1. In a bowl, dissolve one box of cherry flavored gelatin in 3 cups of boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved.
  2. Pour the dissolved cherry gelatin into a 9x13-inch glass baking dish. Refrigerate until set, about 1 hour.
  3. Repeat the same process with the blueberry flavored gelatin. Pour the dissolved blueberry gelatin over the set cherry gelatin layer. Refrigerate until set, about 1 hour.
  4. In a separate bowl, sprinkle 4 envelopes of unflavored gelatin over 1 cup of cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
  5. In a saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, softened cream cheese, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium-low heat until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  6. Remove the saucepan from heat and add the bloomed gelatin mixture. Stir until the gelatin completely dissolves.
  7. Divide the milk mixture into two equal parts. Add red food coloring to one part and blue food coloring to the other part. Stir until the desired colors are achieved.
  8. Allow the milk mixture to cool slightly before pouring it over the set flavored gelatin layers.
  9. For the final layer, alternate small dollops of red and blue milk mixture over the previous layers. Use a toothpick or skewer to create a swirling pattern.
  10. Refrigerate the dessert until completely set, about 4 hours or overnight.
  11. Once fully set, cut the Fourth of July Layered Gelatin into squares or desired shapes, and serve chilled.
  12. Enjoy the festive and delicious Fourth of July Layered Gelatin with your loved ones!
