Flaky Crescent Mushroom Turnovers

Ingredients

  • 1 8-ounce package of mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup of onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 1/4 cup of flour
  • 1 cup of chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 cup of sour cream
  • 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package of refrigerated crescent rolls

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. In a medium skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and mushrooms, and cook until softened.
  3. Stir in flour, stirring constantly for one minute.
  4. Gradually add chicken broth and stir until combined. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream, salt, black pepper, and cheese.
  7. Separate crescent rolls into 8 triangles. Place a spoonful of the mushroom mixture onto the wide end of each triangle.
  8. Roll the crescent roll around the mushroom mixture and place on a greased baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm.
