Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup dried figs, chopped
  • 1/4 cup raisins

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, add warm water and yeast. Stir to combine and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, add olive oil, sugar, salt, and all-purpose flour. Mix with a wooden spoon until combined.
  3. Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture and mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it is elastic and smooth.
  4. Transfer the dough to a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise in a warm place for 45 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
  6. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet and spread into a 10-inch circle. Sprinkle the chopped figs and raisins over the dough and press lightly into the dough.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool. Enjoy!
