Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vital wheat gluten
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast flakes
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1/3 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon tamari
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the vital wheat gluten, nutritional yeast flakes, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and liquid smoke.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the vegetable broth, tamari, and olive oil.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix together until well combined.
  4. Knead the dough for 5 minutes.
  5. Form the dough into a log and wrap it in foil.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
  7. Unwrap the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  8. Let cool before slicing.
