Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups cooked pinto beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
Directions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring often, until the onion is softened and lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
- Add the beans, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet and stir to combine. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Using a potato masher, mash the beans until they reach a desired consistency. Add the lime juice and stir to combine.
- Serve the refried beans warm.
