Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour
  • Garlic powder
  • Active dry yeast
  • Salt
  • Olive oil
  • Butter
  • Garlic cloves
  • Fresh parsley
  • Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of garlic powder, 1 packet of active dry yeast, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  2. Add 1 cup of warm water and 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix well until a dough is formed.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. While the dough is rising, melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan. Finely mince 4 garlic cloves and add them to the melted butter. Cook for a few minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into small portions. Roll each portion into a rope shape and tie it into a knot.
  7. Place the garlic knots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush each knot generously with the garlic butter mixture.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the knots for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Finely chop some fresh parsley and sprinkle it over the hot knots. Grate some Parmesan cheese and sprinkle it on top as well.
  10. Serve the extra-garlicky garlic knots warm and enjoy!
