Ingredients

  • 2 cups puffed wheat cereal
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup golden syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the puffed wheat cereal and butter. Stir until cereal is completely coated with butter.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, white sugar, and golden syrup. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved.
  4. Remove from heat, and stir in the vanilla extract. Pour over the cereal mixture, and stir until evenly coated. Pour into the prepared baking pan.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool before serving.
