Ingredients

  • 1 pint of your favorite ice cream
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract

Directions

  1. Prepare the ice cream by scooping it into a 9-inch pie plate and freezing it for at least 45 minutes.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, egg whites, cream of tartar, vanilla extract, and almond extract until stiff peaks form. Spread the meringue over the frozen ice cream.
  3. Bake the Baked Alaska in a preheated oven at 350°F for 10 minutes, or until the meringue is golden brown.
  4. Let the Baked Alaska cool before serving.
