Ingredients
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or more to taste
1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
Kosher salt, to taste
1 pound spaghetti
Grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish
Directions
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add the tomatoes and basil and season with salt. Cook until the tomatoes are softened, about 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions.
When the pasta is cooked, drain it and add it to the skillet with the tomato sauce. Toss to combine.
Serve the pasta with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
