Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup milk
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in shortening using a pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Make a well in the center of the mixture and add milk. Stir with a fork until dough forms.
- On a lightly floured surface, knead dough lightly for 10 to 15 strokes. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into 2-inch circles.
- Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
- Remove from oven and cool on wire rack.
