Ingredients

  • 2 ½ pounds of beef brisket
  • 1 cup of ketchup
  • ¾ cup of brown sugar
  • ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of celery seed
  • ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, ground mustard, celery seed, cayenne pepper, and salt.
  3. Place the brisket in a large baking dish and pour the ketchup mixture over the top. Flip the brisket over to make sure it is fully coated.
  4. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 2 hours, or until the brisket is tender and juicy.
  5. Serve hot or cold.
