Ingredients

  • 1 cup Door County cherries, pitted and chopped
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup brandy

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the cherries, sugar, and water. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  2. Reduce the heat and simmer the mixture for 5 minutes until the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Strain the mixture into a large bowl. Discard the solids.
  4. Add the brandy to the mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Pour the mixture into a clean, airtight container and store in a cool, dark place for at least two weeks.
  6. Strain the mixture through cheesecloth before serving.
