Ingredients
- 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned, breaking it up into crumbles. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce heat to low. Add the cooked sausage back to the skillet and let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
