Ingredients
- 2 cups mashed sweet potatoes
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, sugar, melted butter, milk, beaten eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Pour the sweet potato mixture into the unbaked pie crust and spread it evenly.
- Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the center is set and the crust is golden brown.
- Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least 1 hour before serving. This will allow the pie to set and firm up.
- Once cooled, slice and serve the sweet potato pie on its own or with a dollop of whipped cream.
