Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp curry powder
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup chutney
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds
- 2 slices bread, soaked in milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup apricot jam
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a large pan, cook the ground beef until browned. Add the onions and garlic, sauté until soft.
- Add the curry powder, turmeric, coriander, and cumin. Stir to combine.
- Mix in the raisins, chutney, almonds, and soaked bread. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and milk together. Pour over the meat mixture and stir well.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and smooth the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and spread apricot jam over the top.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
- Serve hot with steamed rice and a side salad.
