These snowflake truffles are the perfect treat for those chilly winter days when you need something sweet and comforting. Made with a creamy chocolate ganache filling and coated in white chocolate, these truffles resemble delicate snowflakes, making them a beautiful addition to any holiday spread.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 12 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 oz white chocolate, chopped
  • Blue food coloring
  • Snowflake decorations (optional)

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until simmering.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the semisweet chocolate, butter, salt, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm.
  4. Using a melon baller or spoon, scoop out small balls of the ganache and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Freeze the truffles for 30 minutes.
  6. In a double boiler, melt the white chocolate until smooth.
  7. Add blue food coloring to create a light blue shade.
  8. Dip each truffle in the white chocolate and place back on the baking sheet.
  9. Decorate with snowflake decorations if desired.
  10. Chill the truffles in the refrigerator until set, about 1 hour.
