Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef or lamb
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons oil, for frying

Directions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the ground meat, chopped onion, tomatoes, green chillies, fresh coriander, mint leaves, minced garlic, ginger paste, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, gram flour, and egg. Mix well until all the ingredients are combined.
  2. Cover the bowl and let the mixture marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  3. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Take a handful of the kebab mixture and shape it into a round flat patty, about 1/2 inch thick.
  5. Gently place the kebab in the hot oil and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Repeat the shaping and frying process with the remaining kebab mixture.
  7. Serve hot with naan bread, mint chutney, and salad.
