Directions

  1. Warm the milk in a saucepan until it reaches around 110°F. Stir in the sugar and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, eggs, salt, vanilla extract, and softened butter. Mix in the yeast mixture until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  4. Punch down the dough and roll it out to ½ inch thickness. Use a doughnut cutter to cut out doughnut shapes. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover, and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
