Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 4 cups bread flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup poppy seeds
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup dried minced onion
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
Directions
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and honey, mix until a dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add honey.
- Divide dough into 8 equal pieces, shape into balls, and poke a hole in the center. Allow to rise for 10 minutes.
- Boil bagels for 1 minute on each side, then remove and place on a baking sheet.
