Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 cup pitted green olives, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Empanada dough (store-bought or homemade)
Directions
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the diced onion, bell pepper, garlic, cumin, and paprika. Cook until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the chopped olives and season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the empanada dough and cut out circles using a round cutter or a glass. Spoon a portion of the beef mixture onto each dough circle.
- Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Seal the edges by crimping with a fork.
- Place the empanadas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the empanadas are golden brown and crispy. Serve warm and enjoy!
