Bliss balls are a popular snack that is not only delicious but also packed with nutrients. They are made from a combination of nuts, seeds, dried fruits, and natural sweeteners. These bite-sized energy balls are perfect for a quick energy boost or a healthy snack on the go. This recipe will guide you on how to make your own bliss balls at home in no time.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almonds
  • 1/2 cup cashews
  • 1/2 cup Medjool dates, pitted
  • 1/4 cup almond butter
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons flaxseeds
  • 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Desiccated coconut or crushed nuts (optional, for coating)

Directions

  1. In a food processor, blend the almonds and cashews until they turn into a coarse meal.
  2. Add the pitted Medjool dates, almond butter, chia seeds, flaxseeds, raw cacao powder, maple syrup or honey, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt to the food processor.
  3. Blend all the ingredients until they are well combined and the mixture starts to stick together. If the mixture is too dry, add a little more almond butter or maple syrup/honey.
  4. Remove the mixture from the food processor and transfer it to a bowl.
  5. Using your hands, roll small portions of the mixture into bite-sized balls.
  6. Optional: Roll the bliss balls in desiccated coconut or crushed nuts to add extra flavor and texture.
  7. Place the bliss balls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  8. Once chilled, the bliss balls are ready to be enjoyed. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
