  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • For Garnish:
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Sliced bananas

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Add the mashed bananas to the butter mixture and mix well. Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
