Ingredients

  • 1 bone-in turkey breast (6-8 pounds)
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons dried sage
  • 2 teaspoons dried rosemary
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, thyme, sage, rosemary, parsley, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Carefully loosen the skin on the turkey breast without completely removing it. Spread the herb butter mixture under the skin, evenly distributing it.
  4. Place the turkey breast on a rack in a roasting pan, with the skin side up.
  5. Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the roasting pan.
  6. Cover the roasting pan with aluminum foil, making sure it's tightly sealed.
  7. Roast the turkey breast in the preheated oven for approximately 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Baste the turkey breast with the pan juices every 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes of cooking to allow the skin to brown.
  9. Once the turkey breast is cooked, transfer it to a cutting board and tent it with foil. Let it rest for at least 15 minutes before carving.
  10. While the turkey is resting, prepare the gravy. Pour the pan juices into a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  11. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and a little water to create a slurry. Gradually whisk the slurry into the simmering pan juices, stirring continuously until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  12. Carve the turkey breast and serve with the homemade gravy.
  13. Enjoy your delicious and juicy perfect Thanksgiving turkey breast!
