Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Nutella
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, melted butter, sugar, and salt. Mix until the ingredients come together and form a dough-like consistency.
  3. Press the dough evenly into the greased baking pan, creating a crust. Bake for 10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  4. While the crust is baking, in another bowl, whisk together the Nutella, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Remove the crust from the oven and pour the Nutella mixture over it. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.
  6. If desired, sprinkle the chopped hazelnuts over the Nutella layer.
  7. Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean with some moist crumbs.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
  9. Serve and enjoy these delicious homemade Nutella bars!
