Ingredients
- 1 loaf of French bread
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary leaves
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Using a serrated knife, make diagonal cuts into the loaf of French bread, about 1 inch apart, but without cutting through the bottom crust.
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, thyme leaves, rosemary leaves, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create the garlic and herb butter.
- Using a pastry brush, generously brush the garlic and herb butter mixture between the cuts and all over the bread, allowing it to seep into the bread.
- Wrap the bread loosely in aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- After 20 minutes, remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C). Bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the top of the bread is golden brown and crisp.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve warm and enjoy!
- Optional: You can sprinkle some additional chopped parsley on top for garnish.
