Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped spinach (palak)
  • 200g paneer (cottage cheese), cubed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 cup cream (optional)
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  2. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until raw smell disappears.
  4. Add tomato puree and cook until oil separates.
  5. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Add chopped spinach and cook until wilted.
  7. Add cubed paneer and mix gently to coat with the gravy.
  8. Sprinkle garam masala and mix well. If using cream, add it now.
  9. Cook for a few more minutes until the flavors meld together.
  10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.
