This Indian-Samosa Pie recipe is a delicious twist on traditional samosas. It combines all the flavors of a classic samosa filling with the convenience of a pie. Perfect for dinner or as a party appetizer, this dish is sure to impress your guests.
Ingredients
- 1 package of pre-made pie crusts
- 2 potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Then add onions, garlic, and ginger. Saute until onions are translucent.
- Add turmeric, coriander powder, and garam masala. Cook for a minute.
- Add mashed potatoes and peas. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Roll out one pie crust and place it in a pie dish. Add the potato mixture on top.
- Cover with the second pie crust, crimping edges together to seal. Cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
