- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, oats, flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking soda, and salt. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Reserve 1 1/2 cups of the mixture and press the rest into the prepared baking dish to form an even layer on the bottom.
- In a small microwavable bowl, heat the peanut butter for 30 seconds until it becomes slightly runny. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the peanut butter mixture over the oat layer in the baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the peanut butter layer.
- Crumble the reserved oat mixture over the top of the chocolate chips, pressing lightly to adhere.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool completely in the baking dish before cutting into bars.
- Once cooled, use a sharp knife to cut the bars into desired sizes.
