Ingredients

  • 1 lb catfish fillets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Tartar sauce, for serving

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°F (95°C).
  2. Cut the catfish fillets into sticks, about 1 inch wide and 3 inches long.
  3. In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
  4. Add paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the breadcrumbs. Mix well.
  5. Dip each catfish stick into the flour, then into the beaten eggs, and finally into the seasoned breadcrumbs, making sure to coat them evenly.

  7. Fry the breaded catfish sticks in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
