Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons strong brewed coffee
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, butter, salt, baking powder, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  4. In another mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, coffee, and cinnamon until smooth.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the batter in the cake pan.
  6. Pour the remaining batter on top of the cream cheese layer.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and sliced almonds on top of the batter.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes in the pan.
