  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt. Mix well.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, water, 3 eggs, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and orange zest.
  3. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 3 equal portions. Roll each portion into a long rope, about 18 inches (45 cm) long.
