Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

Directions

  1. Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Add the onion to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until softened. Add the garlic, red pepper flakes, oregano, and smoked paprika. Cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, honey, chicken broth, and apple cider vinegar. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Add the chicken back to the skillet and turn to coat in the sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  7. Serve the chicken over rice or mashed potatoes.
