Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
Directions
- Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the onion to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until softened. Add the garlic, red pepper flakes, oregano, and smoked paprika. Cook for 1 minute.
- Add the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, honey, chicken broth, and apple cider vinegar. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the chicken back to the skillet and turn to coat in the sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
- Serve the chicken over rice or mashed potatoes.
