Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, allspice, nutmeg, and ground cardamom. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt the butter.
- Working in batches, add the meatballs to the skillet and brown them on all sides. Transfer the browned meatballs to a plate.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the flour. Stir continuously for 1-2 minutes to cook off any raw flour taste.
- Pour in the beef broth, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. Whisk until the sauce thickens and becomes smooth.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for 10-15 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
- Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
- Optional: Serve with lingonberry sauce and pickled cucumber on the side. Enjoy!
