Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs cube steak
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon dried rosemary
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Season cube steak with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add cube steak and cook until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side.
  3. Remove cube steak from pan and set aside. Reduce heat to medium and add onion, garlic, thyme, rosemary, and oregano to the pan. Cook until onion is softened and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and flour to the pan and whisk to combine. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce has thickened.
  5. Return cube steak to the pan and simmer for 5-10 minutes, until steak is cooked through and sauce is thick and flavorful.
  6. Serve cube steak with gravy.
