Ingredients

  • 1 block extra-firm tofu
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

Directions

  1. Drain and press the tofu for 15 minutes. Cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix together the cornstarch, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Coat the tofu cubes in this mixture.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and fry until golden and crispy, about 5 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and ground ginger. Pour the sauce over the tofu and cook for another 2 minutes, stirring often.
  5. Serve with rice and your favorite vegetables.
