Ingredients

  • 8 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 ounces prosciutto, sliced into strips
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Directions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the prosciutto and cook until crispy, about 5 minutes. Remove the prosciutto from the skillet and set aside on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  3. In the same skillet, add the onion and garlic. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the frozen peas to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, until heated through.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream. Stir well to combine.
  6. Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet and toss until evenly coated in the sauce.
  7. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with crispy prosciutto and chopped fresh parsley.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy!
