Ingredients

  • 8 pieces of manicotti shells
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the manicotti shells according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, ½ cup of Parmesan cheese, beaten egg, dried basil, dried oregano, and garlic powder. Mix well.
  4. Using a spoon or a piping bag, fill each manicotti shell with the cheese mixture. Place the filled manicotti shells in a baking dish.
  5. Pour the marinara sauce over the manicotti, covering them completely.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of mozzarella cheese and ¼ cup of Parmesan cheese on top of the sauce.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Once cooked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
