Ingredients
- 1 lb. of dried chipped beef
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
- 4 cups of milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 slices of toast
Directions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Stir in the flour and whisk continuously until the mixture is smooth and thickened.
- Add the milk and whisk to combine. Continue to cook, stirring continuously, until the sauce thickens.
- Add the chipped beef and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Toast the bread slices and place on a serving plate.
- Spoon the chipped beef gravy over the toast and serve.
