Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk to combine.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and oil. Add to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Stir in the cream-style corn and cheese. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Using a 1/4-cup measure, scoop the batter into the hot oil and flatten slightly with the back of a spoon. Fry until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side.
