Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups frozen corn
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
    • Directions

      1. In a large pot, cook the beef and onion over medium heat for about 5 minutes, or until the beef is browned and the onion is softened.
      2. Add the chicken broth, corn, butter, flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne, and thyme to the pot. Stir to combine.
      3. Increase the heat to high and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
      4. Stir in the heavy cream. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
      5. Serve the chowder hot and enjoy!
