Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- 2 cups beef broth
Directions
- In a large pot over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5 minutes. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and smoked paprika, if using. Stir and cook for 1 minute.
- Add the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook, uncovered, until the chili has thickened, about 20 minutes.
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
