Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and smoked paprika, if using. Stir and cook for 1 minute.
Add the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook, uncovered, until the chili has thickened, about 20 minutes.
