Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
Directions
- Combine warm water, sugar and yeast in a bowl. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add olive oil and mix until combined.
- Add yeast mixture and stir until a dough forms.
- Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until it is smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Punch down dough and turn onto a floured surface. Roll dough into a 12-inch circle.
- Transfer dough to a greased baking sheet. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and rosemary. Cover with a damp towel and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
