Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted
- 2 cups light brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter.
- In a large bowl, mix together melted butter and sugar until well combined. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until creamy.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and chopped pecans, if using. Spread mixture evenly into prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool before cutting into bars.
