Ingredients

  • 1 loaf day-old French bread, cut into cubes
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons coffee-flavored liqueur (e.g. Kahlua)
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  3. Place the bread cubes in the baking dish.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, milk, cinnamon and coffee-flavored liqueur.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes and let sit for 10 minutes.
  6. Bake the pudding for 30 minutes, or until golden brown and set.
  7. Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  8. Stir in the brown sugar and cook until the mixture is bubbling. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and cream.
  9. Pour the caramel sauce over the pudding and serve warm.
