- 12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
- 1 egg
- 1 container (15 oz) ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, water, parsley, basil, sugar, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, mix together egg, ricotta cheese, and Parmesan cheese.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread 1 cup of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer with 4 lasagna noodles, 1/3 of the ricotta mixture, 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese, and 1 cup of meat sauce. Repeat layers twice more, ending with mozzarella cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let stand for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
