Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour and salt. Gradually stir into the creamed mixture until blended. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Spread the mixture into the prepared pie plate. Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. In a medium bowl, beat the cream until it forms stiff peaks. Spread over the cooled pie crust.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
